Why I started Academic Edge
After completing my PGCE at the University of Oxford in 2022, I knew I wanted to work with young people. But during my time in schools, I noticed something troubling: too many bright, capable students were losing confidence – not because they couldn't learn, but because they hadn't found the right support.
I saw students who were treated as test scores rather than people. I watched as their natural curiosity was replaced with anxiety about exams. And I realised that something fundamental was missing: genuine human connection.
That's why I founded Academic Edge Tuition. I wanted to create a different kind of tutoring experience – one where students are valued as individuals first, where trust comes before curriculum, and where building confidence is just as important as building knowledge.
We're not trying to be the biggest tutoring company. We're trying to be the one where every single student genuinely matters. Where parents know their child isn't just another booking, and where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and truly learn.
