Tips for Better Readability
- 1Keep sentences short: Aim for 15-20 words per sentence on average. Break up longer sentences into shorter, clearer ones.
- 2Use simple words: Replace complex vocabulary with simpler alternatives when possible. "Use" is clearer than "utilise."
- 3Vary sentence length: Mix short and long sentences to create rhythm and maintain reader interest.
- 4Use active voice: Active voice is more direct and engaging than passive voice. "We completed the project" beats "The project was completed by us."
